This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation number is FA8901-04-R-0031, is a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-24. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this procurement is 541710 and the business size is 500 employees. The Government intends to issue a contract for the Air Force Research Laboratory, Brooks City-Base, TX. The request is for the purchase of 13 (thirteen) live Cynomolgus (Macaca fascicularis) monkeys. Specific requirements for these monkeys include: experimentally naïve subjects, 1.8-2.5 kg in weight. The monkeys must be herpes B, SIV, SRV, STLV1, antibody negative, PCR/SRV 1 and 2 negative and vaccinated for Hepatitis “A” and measles. They must come with a complete clinical history, and results of physical exam (body weight, fecal exam results, prophylactic Rx such as Ivermec and Albendazole). Preference is for monkeys of Vietnamese origin. Delivery will be made to the Air Force Research Laboratory, Brooks City-Base, TX.
