The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has a sole source requirement for breeding services involving genetically modified mice (knockin, knockout, and lentiviral). This requirement will be a modification to existing IDIQ contract N01-AO-40013 with Ozgene Pty Ltd. of Bentley Australia. Contractor will be required to provide breeding services which may include one or more of the following: removal of Cre, mating to homozygous, maintenance of reserve breeder colony, cryopreservation, line maintenance, and other specific breeding. Ozgene has been identified as the only responsible source for two reasons. First, the mice required for the breeding will be produced at Ozgeneââ¬â¢s facility and transferring them to another contractor will add shipping and rederivation costs and prolong project completion time. Second, breeding data will be tracked in the same database that already contains information for production of the mice as required under the current contract. Services will be added for the current contract year and the remaining three option years. Inquiries must be submitted in writing to Carrie Hickman at
