The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, the Department of Defense Medical School and Health Sciences University, hereby announces its intent to acquire on a sole source basis with Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, ME to purchase approximately 1,305 B6D2F1 female mice, around 10 weeks of age. Approximately four deliveries will take place around March 6, 2008 and ending April 24, 2008. These mice are required for ongoing combined injury research experiments. There experiments have been using the same strain of mice since their inception, and it is imperative that the exact same strain be continued. For Combined Injury research, mice must come from the same colony in order to preclude genetic variations affecting research data collected in ongoing experiments. This award is IAW FAR Part 13.106(b) and authorizes USUHS to award contracts when only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
