The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command Acquisition Center intends to negotiate solely with Armacel Armor Corporation, 2255 Pleasant Valley Rd #3, Camarillo, CA 93012 for 100 Silicon Carbide (SiC) insert prototype panels. Armacel Armor Corporation provides proprietary backing technology that meets the Armys requirement for backing technology. Delivery shall be within 9 months of contract award. The Government intends to negotiate solely with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. The government intends on solicitating Armacel on approximately 1 April 2008. The anticipated proposal submission deadline is 11 April 2008. The anticipated award date of this requ irement is 18 April 2008. A fixed price contract is anticipated.
