This is a synopsis for the purchase of Distinctive Uniforms for the United States Air Force Academy cadets consisting of menâs coats, trousers and overcoats; womenâs coats, skirts, slacks and overcoats. Garments shall be manufactured from tropical wool polyester and wool elastique sponged material in accordance with USAF Academy specifications. The basic fabric only will be provided to the successful offeror as Government Furnished Material (GFM). The proposed contract will be a commercial, firm fixed price requirements contract with a basic period (date of award through 30 Sep 04, and 4 one year options. Estimated yearly quantities (to include fill-in orders) are: Coat, Menâs - 2200 ea; Coat, Womenâs â 500 ea; Trousers â 5400 pr; Slacks â 850 pr; Skirts â 150 ea; Overcoats, Menâs 550; and Overcoats ea, Womenâs 100 ea. Exact quantities and sizes will be provided no later than 15 Dec of each year. A clause contained in this request for proposal is 252.225-7012, Preference for Certain Domestic Commodities also referred to as the Berry Amendment. The Berry Amendment applies only to DoD and has been included in DoD Appropriations Act since 1841. The Act restricts DoDâs expenditure of funds for supplies consisting in whole or in part of certain articles and items not grown or produced in the United States or itâs possessions. Delivery is FOB Destination to USAF Academy, CO 80840 NLT the 30th of April each year. While price will be a significant factor in the evaluation of offers, the final contract award will be based on best value to include past performance.
