The Government is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) for the possible future development of an Advanced Combat Vehicle Crewman - Helmet (ACVC-H) Shell that increases the level of protection afforded to the Soldier. The ACVC-H Shell will utilize and integrate detailed elements of the existing CVC-H Inner Helmet Assembly Drawings.
The purpose of this RFI is to gauge the current marketplace for vendors interested and capable of producing the ACVC-H Shell in a production capacity. The acquisition organization responsible for this effort is Product Manager (PM) Soldier Protective Equipment (SPE), Fort Belvoir, Virginia. In the event the Army decides to proceed beyond the RFI Phase, PM SPE tentatively plans to conduct a first article testing (FAT) prior to authorizing production. Production contracts are anticipated at this time, though no guarantees are made by the posting of this RFI.
Request interested vendors provide, not later than five (5) business days of the posting of this RFI, a detailed description of the vendor's level of interest to participate in a possible future competitive acquisition to produce First Article Test (FAT) pieces and production quantities for the ACVC-H shell. Each vendor's response shall address their ability to make pieces in a production capacity, business size (small, large, etc) and previous experience/contracts in helmet shell manufacturing. This information should be provided to the contracting office electronically to Keith Magaw at
[email protected].
The Government does not guarantee that this RFI will result in a Request for Proposal (RFP) or contract award, and will not provide reimbursement for any costs incurred by vendors who respond to the RFI. Please direct all questions relating to this RFI to the contracting office, Mr. Keith Magaw, Contract Specialist, at (410)-306-2572 or by email at
[email protected].
