This is a combined synopsis solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation R1-04-02-27 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-01. This is a total small business set-aside and the small business size standard is 500 employees. The North American Industry Classification Code is 326140 Polystyrene Foam Packaging Manufacturing. A quotation is requested for one (1) line item. LINE ITEM 1-5,440 each Styrofoam Block Containers, name brand or equal to BeaverPlastics SuperBlock, block model 160/90 with the following specifications: 1) with no legs 2) 160 cavities per block 3) cavity depth of 15.2 centimeters 4) 70.6 cells per square meter 5) 90 milliliters volume per each cell 6) cell top diameter of 3 centimeters 7) 16/17 blocks per bundle, based on blocks measuring 60 centimeters in length and 35 centimeters in width. Inspection will be made at the delivery point and will consist of random sampling of the product for conformance with specifications and quantity count. Offer will specify how materials will be packaged for delivery. Required delivery to be made to the Coeur d Alene Nursery located at 3600 Nursery Road, Coeur d Alene, ID 83815. FAR 52.211-16, Variation in Quantity (April, 1984) applies to this solicitation and any resulting contract. (a) A variation in the quantity of any item called for by this contract will not be accepted unless the variation has been caused by conditions of loading, shipping, or packing, or allowances in the manufacturing processes, and then only to the extent, if any, specified in paragraph (b) (below) of this clause. (b) The permissible variation in quantity shall be limited to: 1 percent increase, 1 percent decrease, and applies to total contract quantity. All deliveries shall be made on regular workdays (Monday through Friday) during regular business hours (7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. local time), excluding official Federal Government holidays.
