The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Specialty Gases Southeast Incorporation, Suwanee, GA for a MVE Vapor Shippers. These containers are designed for the safe transportation of biological samples at cryogenic, -150 Fahrenheit or colder temperatures. Fabricated from durable, lightweight aluminum, they employ a hydro-phobic absorbent that contains the liquid nitrogen for ?spill free? shipping. The absorbent also repels moisture and humidity, assuring the maximum holding time. The eliminates the necessity to dry units between uses. It will also protects from being placed on its side and helps in withstanding the rigors of transportation. This vendor is a regional distributor, and the only one in the State of Georgia. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued.
