DESCRIPTION

A. Composition, CAS, Percent by Weight

1. T-Butyl Acetate, 540-88-5, 73-77 %
2. Methyl Amyl Ketone, 110-43-0, 23-27 %

B. Quantitative Requirements:

1. Maximum Water Content (percent by weight): 0.02%
2. Maximum Alcohol Content (percent by weight): 0.04%
3. Maximum Nonvolatile Content (grams/100ml): 0.02
4. Minimum Flash Point: 40 deg F (4 deg C)
5. Density (lbs/gallon): 6.9-7.2
6. Appearance: The appearance of the solvent shall be clear and free from suspended matter when examined by transmitted light.
7. Odor: The odor shall be characterized of the ingredients and not oticeable after drying on the filter paper.
8. Spot Test: The solvent shall leave no oily spot or stain on filter paper.
9. Composition: The composition shall conform to the amounts given above.
APHA Color - Maximum 10
10. Acidity: Maximum 0.01 percent by weight
11. Reclaim material: The use of reclaimed solvent is prohibited.
12. Compatibility: Must be compatible when mixed 4:1 by volume with MIL-DTL-53022 and MIL-DTL-53039.
13. Certificate of Conformance: Submitted with each shipment

Use: A HAP-free solvent blend to be used as a reducing thinner with CARC and for line and paint gun cleaning and flushing. This product is an alternative to MIL-T-81772 which is used as the thinner for the CARC primers, epoxy interior topcoats and CARC topcoats.

Size: 18.9 Liters (5 gallons)

Shelf Life Code 7: Age on delivery shall not exceed 5 months.
Date of reinspection shall be 36 months from date of manufacture.

Award will be based on (1) Price, (2) Shipment Days
(1) Price will be evaluated first and is most important.
(2) Shipment is requested in 30 Days After Receipt of Order (DARO). Shipment is the second most important factor. In the case that one or more vendors are equal in price, award will be made to the best shipment time under the required 30 DARO.
