The USGS, Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center (PCMSC) in Santa Cruz, CA supporting the Hazards Mission Area requests to purchase a new POSPac MMS software license. The primary use of this software is to support the seafloor mapping operations of PCMSC. This is critical software used to post-process PCMSC¿s research vessel navigation and attitude data collected during seafloor mapping surveys. These data are incorporated into raw bathymetry and acoustic backscatter data allowing for more accurate seafloor maps. These data and maps support USGS mission essential functions, providing information that supports decision makers and resource managers in the preservation of life, health and safety of the American people, and related information delivery systems for global monitoring and reporting. This is software to process POS-MV Inertial Navigation System (hardware) data that is also owned by USGS.
