The Office of Justice Programs(OJP), Office on Violence Against Women (VAW) attends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to the Corporate Sports Marketing Group, Inc. 400 Cleveland Street, 8th Floor, Clearwater, Florida 33755. This order is for the placement of an advertisement in the Major League Baseball 2004: “The Official Guide” program booklet. VAW was created in 1995 to provide leadership against domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Since VAW’s inception, the Office has launched a multifaceted approach to implementing the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), by forging state, local and tribal partnerships among police, prosecutors, the judiciary, victim advocates, health care providers and faith leaders. Under VAWA, the Office on Violence Against Women has issued grants to help provide victims with the protection and services they need to pursue safe and healthy lives and enable communities to hold offenders accountable for their violence. It is VAW’s hope, that the placement of this advertisement will urge men to become more involved in this effort to end violence against women. VAW considers the opportunity to advertise in the Major League Baseball 2004 Official Guide an excellent opportunity to reach men and make them aware of this growing problem.
