SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Centrella The Department of Veterans Affairs, The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center (CLE VAMC), 10701 East Boulevard, Cleveland, Ohio 44106 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority VAAR 819.7007, Sole source awards to Service disabled Veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) concerns. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with Hill-Rom, 6650 West Snowville Road, Brecksville, OH 44141 for Centrella Beds. This will be competed amongst Hill-Rom s SDVOSB distributors. We currently utilize Joerns mattresses with within the Hill-Rom Centrella beds. Instead The beds need to be compatible with the ECU s for the specific needs/functions of the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) patient population and they also need to be 100% compatible with our existing Hill-Rom Nurse Call systems. The mattress needs to be able to deliver pressure redistribution and microclimate management in order to prevent hospital acquired pressure injuries and to promote healing of wound/injuries that a prevalent amongst the SCI population. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Monday May 29, 2021 at 5PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.  All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government.  A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
