EQUIPMENT STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) Introduction/Background Patient Care Service at VA NJ HCS in East Orange is requesting the purchase of med/surgical beds with support surfaces for Wards 9A and 5B. Presently, 67% of existing med surge beds are not equipped with Bed Exit Alarms or a bed scale. Many are considered beyond useful life , have rusty frames and broken controls. FY 17 funded the replacement of beds on Wards 6B & 5D with the Stryker Secure 3 and Stryker mattresses. Objective To replace mixed make/models of med/surgical beds on patient care wards 9A & 5B with new Stryker brand beds including but not limited to alarms, scales, and support surfaces. This is for an outright purchase for commercially available equipment under a firm-fixed price contract. Time of delivery The contractor shall deliver the equipment on or before 8-10 weeks after receipt of order. Require a 72 hour advance notice of delivery Requirements/Specifications Two sets of Operator s and Service manuals will be provided at No Charge Warranty: Bed = 1 Year Parts, Labor & Travel Mattress = 10 Years Salient Features for Bed Project Bed Frame: 9A and 5B quantity 38 Retractable Frame design that keeps patient in place when the head of bed is articulated, reducing the need for caregivers to have to boost and lift them (safe patient handling initiative). Patient monitoring system which utilizes the specific patient s center of gravity to track position in three zones, based on the individual patient s fall risk. Safe Bed monitoring system that monitors specific bed positions (bed exit alarm status, 30 Degree head of bed, side rail position, low bed height, and brake settings) equipped with digital display to communicate compromised safety parameters to caregiver Three-sided bed motion controls with main controls located on footboard away from patient reach. Footboard controls with one button lock-out function to keep away from patient reach One-touch scale with weight history which allows the patient to be weighed in any position in the bed without having to be moved or turned for an accurate and recordable weight Intermediate Support side rail position for safe patient ingress/egress with 3 positions (full up, full down and intermediate) and two sturdy grip points for patient to utilize during egress. Pressure sensitive downward motion interrupt system 30 degree Head of Bed Button with HOB lock to increase accuracy of set protocol and gives the ability to move the head of bed and lock it out at 30 degrees Digital fowler angle indicator located on footboard control panel Adjustable Headboard Height (when the bed height is adjusted, the headboard height adjusts up and down as well for improved caregiver ergonomics during transport) Central braking system with 15 wide brake pedal located at the center of the bed Digital display located on footboard Integrated pump holder Trend/Reverse Trend controls Cardiac chair position with one button operation CPR release (electric and manual) Removable headboard Permanent I.V pole attached to bed frame Adapter Bracket to accommodate patient helper Bed extender to lengthen frame up to 94 to accommodate tall patients on quantity four (4) frames Safe working load not to exceed 500 lbs. weight capacity with required capability clearly marked on the frame Removable oxygen tank holder Hand held patient pendant with motion controls Built in (2) 110v accessory outlets Night light Dual Pedestal lift design Foot prop rod Steer control Four Foley bag hooks Open architecture design flat litter deck Mattress: 9A & 5B quantity 38 Top layer of gel for shear management which moves freely with the patient to help minimize shear forces at the interface between the surface and the patient.
