USACE, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Contracting Office intends to issue a sole source award to Panalytical, Inc., 117 Flanders Road, Westborough, MA, 01581-1042 for yearly services for maintaining an X-ray diffractometer.

Panalytical, Inc. is the only vendor who can provide the service because they hold patented technology and incorporate proprietary parts into their machine.

The Government intends to procure from only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), test program for commercial items (section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996). This will be a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures per FAR 13. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation to the Contract Specialist by 12:00 PM CST, Tuesday, May 24 2011.
