NASA/KSC has a requirement for the following: nine (9) 6U VME (D64), PCM Decommutator with Simulator, 10bps to 20 Mbps (TF module capable), Base Memory 32 KB Option – IRIG Time Code Reader, (SBS Technologies, Part Number: 4422-V64-1000). NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from SBS Technologies (Attn: Carrie Ross), 2400 Louisiana Blvd., NE, AFC Bldg. 5, Suite 600, Albuquerque, NM 87110-4316, Ph: 800-727-1553. This sole source procurement is entered into under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), only one responsible source, and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. SBS, a small business, is the only manufacturer of this item. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 12/7/2004. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
