NASA/JSC has a requirement for quantity of one (1): JSC 50Mbps to 150 Mbps Upgrade {Compact PCI Intel PP120 processor (IDEA)} {Compact PCI Store (240Gbyte)}; quantity of one (1): CCSDS Service Processor Upgrade Sun Netra AX2200 Motherboard {Single CPU 1.05 GHz UltraSPARC-III with 8MB cache, 1 Gbyte RAM, Two 36.4 Gbytes Fiber Channel, 10000 rpm HDD, 10x SCSI DVD-ROM, 8/24-Bit Graphics, Sun Type 6 USB Keyboard/Mouse, Gigabit Ethernet Interface, Solaris 8 OS}; and quantity of one (1): full service annual maintenance of hardware, software, firmware and documentation on existing equipment and additional equipment being added with this acquisition. NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from TSI Telsys. Authority for other than full and open competition is 10U.S.C.2304(c)(1). TSI Telsys is the developer of the original equipment. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on August 17, 2003. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
