The Army Contracting Command - Rock Island intends to purchase 1 EMC Brand Storage Area Network (SAN) Disk Array Enclosures (DAE) in support of the Network Enterprise Center. The DAE will replace the near End-of Life CX3 SAN hardware that is currently supports the applications, file storage, and infrastructure on the Rock Island Arsenal. The DAE will be installed in an EMC SAN and no other brand name DAE is compatible. All DAE are brand name specific and cannot be swapped from one vendor's SAN over to another. The Government intends to purchase the requirement by awarding a competitive firm fixed price delivery order through the Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) program which is the Army's designated primary source for commercial IT. In accordance with the CHESS ordering guidelines, The Fair Opportunity will be given to all ITES-2H multiple award contract holders. A brand name justification has been approved and is being posted with this announcement. Market research has revealed that more than one ITES-2H multiple award contract holder can provide the required items. When this is true the procurement must be made from CHESS IAW AFARS 5139.101.
