NASA/LaRC has a requirement for a Compact PCI (cPCI) Digital Signal Processor(DSP)Module, 1 each; VisualDSP ++ Floating license, 1 each; Bittware DSP21K Software Tools, 1each; Floating and Fixed Point Libraries with 1 year maintenance, 1 each; BittWare FPGADevelopers Kit, 1 each; Bittware DSP21K Software Tools Porting Kit, 1 each and BatteryBackup Kit, 1 each.NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from Bittware Inc as the only known sourceavailable for this requirement. The cPCI DSP module will run in a real-time operatingsystem (OS) environment VxWorks and will use a battery backup to protect a PC for NASAMission Software Development. Bittware provides DSP modules with the floating pointcomputation at a high throughput rate and that are compatible with VxWorks with theporting toolkit. This software has been in use at NASA LaRC for serveral years. Theprocessor will be a replacement for an existing processor. It would take substantialduplication of time and money for another company to offer a similar tested product thatwould meet this requirement.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
