This announcement is a Request for Information (RFI). This is not a request for proposal and no award will be made as a result of this announcement. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) VISN 11 is seeking preliminary market research information from prospective contractors to understand clinical features and functions, installation requirements, and implementation needs of an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) clinical information system (CIS) and an anesthesia record keeping system (ARK) and Virtual-ICU Technologies. The NAICS is 511210. The scope of this initiative includes seven (7) Medical Centers in VISN 11 (4 across Michigan, 1 in Illinois, and 2 in Indiana).The CIS and ARK will integrate information acquired at the point of care from a variety of medical devices. These include, but are not limited to: physiologic monitors (SpaceLabs), ventilators (Maquet, Respironics, Puritan Bennett), anesthesia machines (Drager, Datex Ohmeda), gas analyzers, infusion pumps (Alaris, Hospira), intra aortic balloon pumps, and SVO2/CCO monitors. The CIS and ARK will need to integrate with other information systems including, but not limited to: VA's VistA/CPRS hospital information system (Lab results, user passwords, ADT, VistA Imaging, etc.), data analytic system, and between the CIS and ARK. Respondents are asked to respond to the following: We are seeking information on the capability to provide CIS and ARK as a single product or as separate products. Address whether you offer a CIS solution, an ARK solution, or both. A Vendor Fair is planned for the Northern Tier at the VISN 11 Contract Service Center located at 24 Frank Lloyd Wright Drive, Lobby M, Suite M2200, Ann Arbor, MI 48105 the week of September 27, 2010. There will be a set up day on Monday September 27th and the vendor fair would be on Tuesday September 28th and Wednesday September 29th. The fair for the Southern Tier will be at the Indianapolis VAMC located at 1481 W. 10th St Indianapolis IN 46202 the week of October 4, 2010. There will be a set up day on October 4th and the vendor fair on Tuesday October 5th and Wednesday October 6th. At the vendor fair the participants will be given the opportunity to present their capabilities and concepts. The Objectives are to clarify VISN 11's strategic approach, project organization, acquisition process, and general timeline for implementing CIS; familiarize VISN 11 staff with commercial off-the-shelf CIS products; conduct market research to understand clinical features and functions commonly available in modern commercial offerings for ICU Clinical Information Systems (ICU CIS), Anesthesia Record Keeping Systems (ARK), and Virtual-ICU technologies Additional details about specifics of the fair will be provided to respondents. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their request to participate as soon as possible. In order to participate in the Vendor Fair, respondents must contact the POC by September 16, 2010. We are also requesting the presentations be made available by September 20, 2010 to allow for appropriate development of questions. Due to space restrictions, each vendor will be permitted to send a maximum of five (5) people to this vendor fair.
