The Department of Commerce, NOAA, National Weather Service (NWS), Climate Prediction Center intends to negotiate on sole source basis, under authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302 Other Than Full and Open Competition, with the Environmental Systems Research International Institute, Inc (ESRI). 380 New York Street, Redlands, CA 92373-8100. Provide proprietary software maintenance for ArcIMS Linux One Server License. ArcIMS Linus One Server, Two Climate Prediction Center (CPC) License, Item Number 99359 - 1 each . 2) ArcIMS Installation Pkg, Item Number 100048 â 3 ea, plus shipping for customer â 1 ea. 3) Data Delivery Extension for Item 1, Item Number 97546 â 3 ea plus shipping for customer-1 ea. This would allow quality control of our products by our users using both LINUX and Windows Workstations with NO additional software required. The selected software must allow access to GIS (Geographic Information Data sets) including Shape Files, GEO Referenced Raster Images, ESRI Coverage Files, ESRI Layer Files as well as access to an ArcSDE data base. This software must also accept .mxd and .pmf files for display. This software will allow the Climate Prediction Center to access GIS data sets and allow our researchers and forecasters greater flexibility and access to our products. This will result in more accurate long range forecasts for the general public. Also, the Climate Prediction Center would gain experience in publishing Geographic Information System products for the internet. ArcIMS is the only product that will allow viewing of ARCglobe products on the World Wide Web. ARCIMs is only available from ESRI and is patented and licensed by ESRI. The period of performance is from date of the award to April 30, 2008.
