Q: "Industry" requests clarification to the definition of "Ground Instrumentation" and"Ground Instrumentation System Integration" in paragraphs 2 and 3 respectively. A: Paragraph 2): "Ground Instrumentation" is defined as the respective "commander" and "gunner" individual display panel boards; replicated to scale, which includes the physical operation of all switches, toggles, knobs, gauges, indicators, controls, lights, sights, viewfinder and optics that are required to operate the vehicle's weapons systems from these positions. Each trainer should allow for the commander and gunner to operate in tandem. The shipboard variation may be touch screen replica imulating panel display board and the use of either ancillary or auxiliary hand control and sight devices. Shipboard system is to be compact and transportable with minimal setting up required. Paragraph 3): "Ground Instrumentation System Integration" is defined as the ability for the trainer to conduct combined training with other gunnery trainers of the same and or other armored combat vehicle platforms of the same or higher fidelity trainers such as the Deployable AGTS and Institutional AGTS. (i.e. the LAV training system should be able to interface and conduct simultaneous training with other LAV and M1A1 trainers Tabletop, Deployable and Institutional AGTS; the system should also recognize and represent the additional trainer as the appropriate vehicle in the scenario).
