The United States Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) is planning a $48.7M sole source Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with MPRI, Inc for Laser Marksmanship Training Systems (LMTS). The planned contract will be for a five-year period, with two option years, and will provide for marksmanship training devices/systems, spares and individually purchased equipment, New Equipment Training, and Total System Performance Responsibilty warrany, ordered under the IDIQ. This contract is being executed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
The LMTS fulfills crucial US Government approved marksmanship training requirements. It has to support single or multi-lane individual training for stationary dismounted individual/team/squad/section levels in combat, combat support and combat service support. The LMTS is lightweight, highly mobile, transportable by individual soldiers and is able to operate in the field under austere conditions (rain, snow, heat, humidity) without any fixed facility support and is used in conjunction with the soldiers actual weapon, optics and accessories.
