PEO STRI is planning a $33 million sole-source modification to existing Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract no. N61339-07-D-0007 with MPRI, Inc. to extend the present period of performance from a three-year base period to a five-year base period, with options for an additional three years. The planned modification will increase the maximum quantities to be procured from $9M to $42M for the following items: Various Laser Marksmanship Training Systems (LMTS); New Equipment Training (NET) on the LMTS; and 3 years of Total System Performance Requirements (TSPR) or no-fault extended warranty. This modification is being executed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Due to the transitioning of contracting activities, this requirement may be awarded as a new IDIQ under the cognizant Army contracting office versus a modification to the existing Navy contract. The LMTS fulfills crucial US Government approved marksmanship training requirements. It has to support single or multi-lane individual training for stationary dismounted individual/team/squad/section levels in combat, combat support and combat service support. The LMTS is lightweight, highly mobile, transportable by individual soldiers and is able to operate in the field under austere conditions (rain, snow, heat, humidity) without any fixed facility support and is used in conjunction with the soldier's actual weapon, optics and accessories.
