NA It is the intent of the Government to negotiate on a sole source basis with Qiagen Operon for pig oligonucleotides for the production of microarrays or genechips and will be used in conjunction with the recently acquired computer controlled robotic microar rayer. This set consists of 13,287 unique nucleotide sequences set up in 384 well multiplates and these are used by the microarrayer to produce the genechips that are printed on glass slides. The oligonucleotides arrayed in the 384 well multiplates must represent well characterized genes for the Unigene database at the National Center for Biotenchnology Information, be 70 base pairs in length and less thatn 1000 base pairs from the 3' end of the gene they describe. Their GC content must be in the range o f 40-60% and the melting temperature must be 78 degree C+ -0.5 degree C. Cross-hybridization to all other genes must be less than 70% and they must exhibit minimal secondary structure. All oligonucleotides must have a 5 amino linker to facilitate linkage to the glass substrate.
