he USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Illumina Inc, 9885 Towne Center Drive, San Diego, CA 92121-1975 to obtain reagent supplies for genotyping assays using the system developed by Illumina, Inc. The USDA ARS has a Highthroughput SNP Genotyping BeadStation 500GX bead array reader system manufactured by Illumina Inc. The ingredients and formulas of the reagents, and the method for synthesizing the bead array platform are proprietary to Illumina Inc. It is anticipated an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract will be issued and delivery orders for reagents will be issued when needed. The following three reagent kits will be required for a single plate assay of 96 samples: Sentrix Universal-96 Array Matrix (1536-plex) or the bead array Illumina Cat # FA-12-109; single-use activation kit Illumina Cat # GT-95-201; GlodenGate Assay kit with UDG Illumina Cat # GT-95-205. Other interested parties may submit questions and/or qualifications statements to the Contracting Officer by July 10th, 2007, for consideration.
