The National Science Foundation, Division of Administrative Services, Procurement Section is soliciting for the purchase of a Digital Betacam Editing Recorder for its Office of Legislative and Public Affairs, along with an Analog Composite Input Board to operate the above Recorder. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, supplemented by additional information in this notice. This is a small business set-aside. This recorder must have Digital Betacam SP Format capability, no other formats will be acceptable. This format is broadcast quality and is the format used by commercial editing houses. This is a Brand Name acquisition in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(c). At this time this format is available only from Sony Electronics in the DVWA 500 Digital Betacam SP Editing Recorder. This will allow the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs to edit and store video in its original format without loss of any quality for redistribution to outside commercial sources. Selection of a successful offeror will be based on the lowest priced brand name or equivalent giving the best value to the government. Failure to respond prior to the date and time set for receipt of quotes may render your quote nonresponsive and result in rejection of the offer.
