36C25022Q0137 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Panther Reagents The Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, 10701 East Blvd Cleveland, OH 44106 intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.1061(b)(1)-Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The NAICS code is 334516 with a small business size standard of 1000. The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with Hologic Inc. 250 Campus Dr, Marlborough, MA 01752. The Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service is requesting the procurement of reagents and consumables for women s health testing and methodology. These reagents and consumables are proprietary in nature as they are uniquely made for only the Hologic Panther system currently in use at the Cleveland VA Medical Center (Cat. #303095 Panther System, requesting only compatible assay kits and reagents). These reagents will allow for chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomonas, bacterial vaginosis, and yeast STD testing to be done for our women veteran population. Consumables will be used to maintain the instrumentation and perform quality control measures to ensure accurate patient testing. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Friday November 26, 2021 at 2pm EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.  All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government.  A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
