The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a non-competitive, sole source purchase order to Malvern Instruments, 10 Southville Road, Southborough, MA, 01772. FDA will purchase 1) Part # ZEN3600 System (includes CPH2060US, CPP2040, DTS0112, ZEN2112, VIS5001, and ZEN1001), Zetasizer Nano-ZS for the measurement of size, molecular weight and zeta potential of dispersed particles and molecules in solution. Malvern Instruments Zetasizer ZS is the only Dynamic Light Scattering instrumentn that utilizes back-scatter optical particle size measurements combined with zeta potential measurements in a single instrument, the only one that permits override of the computer assisted laser position for manual positioning, has a unique temerature range from 2-90 degrees C. Measurements of both particle size and zeta potential are made using re-usable but dispoable cuvettes and it has an optional Auto-titrator that can automate the zeta potential vs. pH measurements. This titrator is compltetely integrated into the system. There is no other commercially available system that combines these specifications into one instrument. Therefore, Malvern Instruments is the only known vendor who can perform the necessary upgrade. NO REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
