The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has a requirement to purchase XYZ Piezo Flexure Stage, 200x200x20mm, Capacitive Sensor and the Digital Piezo Controller, 4 Channels, LEMO Connectors. A 3-axis linear scanning stage and controller is required to meet the following technical specifications: 1) X-Y travel of at least 200mm; 2) Z travel of at least 20mm; 3) Full-range positioning repeatability of +10 nm in X and Y; 4) Full-range positioning repeatability of +1 nm in Z; 5) Stage central clear aperture > 65 x 65 mm; 6) Stage overall horizontal dimensions no greater than 155 x 155 mm; 7) Stage overall vertical dimension no greater than 35 mm; 8) Stage must contain integral position feedback sensors; 9) Controller must implement a < 200ms feedback loop to maintain position; 10) Controller must have IEEE 488 and RS-232 interfaces; 11) Controller peak output current capability > 200 mA/Channel (<20ms); 12) Controller maximum output power > 25 W/channel; 13) Controller must be able to drive 4 actuators simultaneously (3 stage axes plus a separate vertical probe); 14) Controller must have output short-circuit protection. It is anticipated that RFQ NIH-NIDDK-02-728 will be available for fifteen (15) calendar days after the publication date of this notice. Quotations will be due within ten (1) calendar days after the RFQ closes. The anticipated award date is April 1, 2002.
