The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 3 Network Acquisitions & logistics Program is releasing a solicitation for the lease/purchase of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureous (MRSA) Analyzers for deployment to our eight (8) medical center campuses located in New York and New Jersey. The anticipated date of release is 31 August 2007. Responses will be due on 12 September 2007 no later than 4:00pm EST. Potential contractors must provide an FDA approved, fully-integrated and automated analysis instrument for the rapid detection of MRSA from patient specimens. Acceptable solutions will allow flexibility for future expansion of testing, using the same instrumentation footprint to include, but not limited to, Vancomycin Resistant Enterococcus, Clostridium Difficile, and Enterovirus. Acceptable systems should be able to conduct the test and give results rapidly (measured in hours including preparatory time). There should be no requirement for a molecular trained technologist to operate the analyzer or to perform the test.
