The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate with Renishaw, Incorporated of Hoffman Estates, Illinois on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source, for the upgrade of an existing Renishaw Raman Microscope System. The upgrade shall include the following: 785nm Holographic Notch Filters; NIR-Optimized Grating with Kinematic Mount; Upgrade to Kinematic Hi-Speed Grating, Visible-Optimized Kinematic Grating; LWD 100X Objective, includes Adaptor for Leica; Renishaw WiRE 2.0, Raman Control Software; Upgrade to USB RenCam CCD. Renishaw, Incorporated is the manufacturer of the existing Renishaw Raman Microscope System that is to be upgraded. The new parts for the upgrade must fit and be compatible with the existing Renishaw Raman Microscope System 1000. Renishaw is the only supplier of these proprietary parts and equipment necessary to maintain and upgrade the instrument. The delivery time for this requirement is 2-3 months after receipt of order and the delivery shall be FOB Destination to Gaithersburg, Maryland. The Government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price purchase order utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes by July 3. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) package is not available. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334516 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
