The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) needs to procure a Triple Resonance NMR Probe with the following technical specifications: 1) The probe must be compatible with the dimensions of an existing Magnex 17.6 Tesla NMR magnet with Bruker room temperature shims. The inner diameter of the room temperature shims is approximately 39.8 mm; 2) The probe must be capable of simultaneous operation at 1H, 12C, and 15N NMR frequencies in a 17.6 Tesla magnet; 3) The probe must accommodate sample volumes of at least 10 microliters and must be capable of magic angle spinning at frequencies greater than 40 kHz; 4) The probe must produce radiofrequency field amplitudes of at least 150 kHz for 1H nuclei, 100 kHz for 13C nuclei, and 70 kHz for 15N nuclei, with radiofrequency pulse powers of 200 W, 200 W, and 300 W, respectively; 5) The probe must include ten magic angle spinning rotors. All vendors that can provide the Government with the equipment listed above may request a copy of the Request for Quote (RFQ) in writing or by FAX to 301-480-8502 to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. It is anticipated that the RFQ NIH-NIDDK-06-987 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is September 20, 2006.
