THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and shall not obligate the Government to award a contract. The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources interested and capable of performing the work and obtain their size classification relative to the North American Classification System (NACIS) Code 333416 with a size standard of 500 employees. A. GENERAL INFORMATION Background: The Hines Illinois VA healthcare System intends to purchase a Refrigerated Centrifuge for use in its Laboratory. Scope of Work: The contractor shall provide the following as listed below in the SOW. This contract is for the purchase of a Eppendorf refrigerated centrifuge 5804 R with 15 and 50 ml adapters, or similar piece of equipment which meets the salient features listed below. This is a BRAND NAME OR EQUAL requirement which will be used by the VA Medical Center. This is a salient requirement, and is not flexible. The following are the minimum salient characteristics that must be met: Please note that this is a salient requirement, and is not flexible. The following are the minimum salient characteristics that must be met: The contractor will supply an ultra-low freezer with a built in chart recorder with the following specifications: " Refrigeration system range from -9°C to 40°C " Aerosol tight rotors and covers for biological sampling " A cell pack that is 4 x 250ml " 120 volt " 50/60 Hz for 32 x 15ml, or 16 x 50ml conical tubes " Rotor S-4-72 " Round buckets Acquisition of refrigerated centrifuge 5804R, with 4x250mL Cell Pack, 120 V, 50/60 Hz for 32x15 mL or 16x50 mL conical tubes. This will include rotor S-4-72 with round buckets, adapters, and any accessories or parts. This task includes purchase and delivery of the centrifuge to Hines VA Hospital campus. The warehouse at the Hines VA Hospital will receive this product and deliver to the end user, where the user will move the item into position, complete the installation according to the manufacturer's electrical requirements, and begin using the machine. REQUESTED INFORMATION: STATEMENT OF CAPABILITY: Submit a brief description (five [5] pages or less) that shows your company can provide the required services. One additional page may be included explaining experience in performing these services to the VA, other government agencies, or for private facilities. Potential sources should identify business name, point of contact, business size and any applicable business socio-economic category (i.e. small business, SDVOSB, VOSB, SB, etc), DUNS number, address, and any additional information felt to be pertinent. All vendors must be registered in SAM https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/ prior to contract award.
