The Bioseeq polymerase Chain Reaction Thermocycler employs real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology to provide semi-quantitative analysis of specific pathogens within 60 minutes of initial sample collection. Appropriate devices will be battery powered and automated with from four to ten individually operated thermocyclers. Initial target organisms include Vibrio, Clostridium, Aeromonas, and Plesiomonas bacterial species; Hepatitis A virus; and Cryptosporidium protozoa. The device must be capable of reprogramming to address different biological samples as the need arises.
