The U.S. Department of Agriculture proposes to Sole Source purchase TWO (2) Photoacoustic Multigas Analyzer from California Analytical Instruments for the purpose of measuring in-situ, continuous gas equilibrium concentrations. The objective is to determine broiler litter gaseous products, how these gases vary with house management, and their effect on poultry. The Analyzer must comply with the following specification: must have dual microphones, small cell, 6 position wheel ( 5 optical filterwheel with a 6th filter for water measurement and correction), self testing, self contained pumping system, low wattage power requirement, wide dynamic range to measure NH3, CO2, CO, N2O, CH4, and water, and span gas calibration charge for each gas type. The Analyzer shall be installed/set-up delivery FOB to the USDA, ARS, Starkville, MS. An IFB with complete specification requirements will be issued on or about July 6, 2005 with all bids being due at 2:00 p.m. August 5, 2005.
