The United States Coast Guard, Aircraft Repair & Supply Center, Engineering Services Division intends to solicit for Personnel Locator Beacons. The solicitation will be for a Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) type contract consisting of a 7-year period of performance. This includes a base year and six 1-year options. The solicitation will be solicited as Full and Open Competition. The applicable NAICS code is 334511 with a size standard of 750 employees. The Solicitation Document HSCG38-07-R-500028 will be available for downloading on the FedBizOpps website. Contractors are encouraged to register in the FedBizOpps "Vendor Notification Service" (located on the FedBizOpps home page) to receive all notices for solicitation HSCG38-07-R-500028. The Personnel Locator Beacon integrates the capabilities of the MINI B to transmit on the older style emergency beacon frequencies of 121.5 and 243MHz, while adding the ability to transmit on the newer digital formatted distress message in the 406.0-406.1 MHz frequency band. The Personnel Locator Beacon includes the beacon and non-rechargeable battery. The Government intends to use the procedures of FAR Part 12, Part 15 and the Best Value Sources Selection procedures for this acquisition.
