This is published as sole source announcement under the authority of Section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996 permitting Other than Full and Open Competition 10 U.S.C 2304(c) (1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Army Contracting Command, APG Sector T, Contract Operations Division, Tobyhanna, PA 18444 intends to solicit Tektronix, 14150 SW Karl Braun Dr, Beaverton, OR 97077, as the sole source for below item required to support the fabrication of the Versatile Depot Automatic Test System (VDATS). The VDATS is the Air Force's preferred test solution and a recognized member of the DoD Families of Testers. The proposed action will provide the components for the VDATS to be organically manufactured at Tobyhanna Army Depot.

Engineers at Warner Robbins AFB, Georgia wrote software and designed the Variable Depot Automated Test System (VDATS) around Teradyne Firmware for which a sole source justification has been approved. The exact Tektronix proprietary part numbered item (below) is required in order to maintain the configuration control baseline, provide compatibility with Teradyne software and firmware utilized for individual components, promote transportability of workload between test stations and the capability to communicate with other components within the (VDATS).

VDATS is used to provide depot level diagnostic, troubleshooting, repair and verification of Air Force weapon systems. The required components for the manufacture of VDATS include:
