The Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.106-1) with Tecniplast USA, Inc., 1345 Enterprise Drive Suite 2, West Chester PA 19380 as the only responsible source that can provide individually ventilated caging used to house rodents on a Tecniplast rack system. This acquisition is being conducted under the FAR 13.1 Simplified Acqusition Procedures.
Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) has a need individually ventilated caging used to house rodents on a Tecniplast rack system. The system includes; mouse cages, rat cages, and auto-watering lixits. This request provides replacement caging for cages that are broken or disfigured through normal wear and use.
Items being purchased in this acquisition:
90 rat cage setups to include cage body, cage lid w/water bottle depression, wire lid, and cage card holder to work with the Tecniplast Green Line caging
120 mouse cage setups to include cage body, cage lid w/water bottle depression, and wire lid to work with the Tecniplast Green Line caging
200 rat cage setups to include cage body, cage lid w/water bottle depression, and wire lid to work with the Tecniplast Blue Line caging
500 QD Drinking valves for Tecniplast rodent racks
This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 339999 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received by closing of this notification of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
Based on the above information, the only technically acceptable system is provided by Tecniplast USA, Inc.
