NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE - 5 June 2008 -This serves as a "Notice of Intent" to issue a purchase order under FAR 13.501, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, to Newport Corporation, on a Sole Source basis to purchase the following line items: CLIN 0001: Description of Item or Service being purchased.CLIN 0001: PRO-230-10 Oscillator/Amplifier Nd: YAG laser. CLIN 0002: HG-4B1 High efficiency, angle tuned, temperature stabilized, harmonic generator with SHG I and II and THG KD*P crystals. CLIN 0003: HIS-532 Pair of mounted 532 nm dichroic beam splitters. CLIN 0004: HIS-355 Pair of mounted 355 nm dichroic beam splitters. CLIN 0005: BD-6 Water cooled beam dump for internal use in Quanta-Ray pulsed Nd: YAG lasers. This document incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2005-16 effective 22 March 2007. This requirement is determined to be available from only one source because of its unique requirements. No request for quote for this procurement will be transmitted via Federal Business Opportunities. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all proposals received within 5 days after date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government with an award date on or about 17 June 2008. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.
