NASA/GSFC has a requirement for:-Qty:5, Description: MPL Athermal Telescope Upgrade Kits.NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Sigma Space Corporation. The MPL AthermalTelescope Upgrade kits are used to replace older telescopes in pre-existing Micro PulseLidar (MPL) systems that are deployed in the world wide NASA Micro Pulse Lidar Network(MPLNET). We need to replace and upgrade the telescopes in our existing MPL model 4Binstruments and this kit is required. Performance criteria are mechanical and opticalcompatibility with the Sigma Space MPL model MPL-4B. The vendor to provide thesetransceivers is Sigma Space. Sigma Space manufactures the lidar systems, holds theoptical design for the instrument and transceiver, and it is our understanding that thereare the sole company to provide the corresponding parts.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to GENIA BURTON-PENDERGAST at [email protected] or byfax to 301-286-5373 (email preferred), not later than 4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time onSeptember 23, 2011.Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determiningwhether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.
