U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Disease (USAMRIID), Fort Detrick, MD has a requirement for automated generation of DNA clonal clusters by bridge amplification, sequencing, primary and secondary analysis. USAARL intends to purchase the Nucleo Counter /Cell Counter from Illumina, Inc. It is an Illumina MiSeq System designed specifically for low thoughput and small genome or targeted sequencing projects. System includes embedded touchscreen monitor and on-instrument computer, dual surface imaging capability, MiSeq Software Suite, installation kits and standards, installation and training, and 12 months warranty. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 9:30 a.m. local time EST on 03/31/2015. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
