NASA/KSC has a requirement for the following: 1) METS-231 with 10/100/1000BaseTEthernet Capability and METS Validation Softwareand Dongle 2) METS-231 5 Foot RS-422 Cable Set 3) METS-231 5 Foot RS-422 Cable Set. Thisrequirement is a Manufacturer sole source to Scientific Data Systems. The METS-231 wasdeveloped under contract by the US Air Force for use in compliancy testing of IRIG-106chapter 10 recorders. Scientific Data Systems is the only authorized, certified andapproved source for this device. The Government intends to acquire these commercial itemsusing FAR Part 12. Any firms believing that they can provide the material may submittheir capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identifiedpoint of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on August 19th 2011. Suchcapabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determiningwhether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination bythe Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis,based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
