The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with Calibron Systems Inc., Scottsdale, Arizona, a requirement for the following; (1) DENSITRAK Model D625 liquid density meter (2) SPUD 620 density processor in NEMA 4/7 enclosure with display and (3) Optional operating temperature 32 degrees F (Fahrenheit) to 203 degrees F (0 degrees C (Celcius) to 95 degrees C. . The meter shall have a resolution of 0.0001 g/cm3 and an accuracy of 0.0001 g/cm3, which is a required degree higher than the existing density meters used at NIST. The unit also has be 100 % compatible with existing R-410A fluid to be used in applicable conditions at which experiments will be conducted in the laboratory and covers the desired range of mass flow. Calibron Systems Incorporated is the only known producer of this essential equipment *** Delivery is required to be F.O.B. Origin and is required within 3 weeks after receipt of order. *** The Government anticipates the award of a fixed price purchase order. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations and no solicitation package will be issued. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
