The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service intend to issue a purchase order on a sole source basis to Smiths Detection, Danbury, CT to purchase IlluminatIR Microspectrometer PHL Package with Microscope Option, P/N 006-2007 includes the following: 1) 1 year partnership program, P/N 006-4040; 2) IlluminatIR Installation, P/N 006-4007; 3)Low-E Glass Microscope Slides (Box of 25), P/N 006-4013; 4) Olympus BX-51 Microscope Package, P/N 006-2101. The equipment is to be delivered to USDA, FSIS, Eastern Laboratory, Athens, GA. The FT-IR spectrometer in combination with the light microscope and software package provides a means of rapidly viewing, isolating a single microscope particle, performing IR spectrometry, and searching a spectral library database to provide rapid screens of unknowns. This is unique and requires the exact specifications. All responsible sources who can provide the above requirement shall submit written quotations within five (5) days from the published date of this announcement.
