The NAVY EXPERIMENTAL DIVING UNIT, Panama City, FL intends to procure via Simplified Acquisition Procedures, SOLE SOURCE to University at Buffalo (SUNY), a hyperbaric chamber internal breathing simulator to be used in the Experimental Diving Facility (EDF) to perform unmanned testing and evaluation of diving equipment. The device must be capable of operating in hyperbaric chambers to simulated depths of at least 1000 fsw; must have a maximum volume of at least 5 liters, maximum breathing rate of at least 100 breaths per minute, maximum ventilatory rate of at least 150 liters/minute; tidal volume and breathing rate adjustable from outside the hyperbaric chamber while at depth; drive motor powered with 40 volts DC or less and maximum current of 10 amps or less.
