The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Laboratory of Cellular Carcinogenesis and Tumor Promotion (LCCTP), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), plans to procure a Fluorchem 8900 Megapixel Superior Performance Fluorescence, Chemiluminescence and Visible Light Imaging System, from Alpha Innotech, 2401 Merced Street, San Leandro, CA 94577. This is a 100% total small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 334516 and the business size standard is 500 employees. The supplies and services herein are being procured in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures authorized by FAR Part 13. The Laboratory of Cellular Carcinogenesis and Tumor Promotion (LCCTP), conducts an integrated research program designed to elucidate the cellular and tissue changes associated with specific stages of carcinogenesis, to define molecular mechanisms involved, and to illuminate pathways that may lead to rational approaches for cancer prevention or treatment. Studies are performed in vivo in experimental animals, in vitro in cell and organ culture, and on tissues and cells obtained from human volunteers and patients. Alpha Innotech's FluorChem 8900 Imaging System offers the most versatile options with user-friendly software. It includes a cooled and regulated camera with 12-bit digitalization and 1.339 million pixels for high resolution analysis of chemiluminescence, fluorescence and basic gel documentation. The system includes technical support for the whole system through Alpha Innotech. Also included are free upgrades and unlimited user's license for the laboratory. Alpha Innotech is the only known source that can provide the above Imaging System. The options of the new system will allow for extensive and in-depth analysis of the samples and for the preparation of high quality images for publication. The lab will be able to expand its imaging capabilities to include chemiluminescense detection, be able to quantitatively analyze the captured images with user-friendly software and be able to produce quality images. This is not a request for competitive quotation. However, if any interested party believes it can perform the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The statement of capabilities and any other furnished information must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow NCI to determine if the party can perform this requirement. Capability statements must be received in the contracting office by 1:00 PM EST, June 10, 2004.
