NASA/GSFC has a requirement for Solid Etalons intended for laboratory/prototype usebut with the potential for space application in the near future. Therefore, the generalconstruction should be space-based in terms of substrate materials, coatings and epoxychoices. Design should allow for up to 3.5 years operational use in space, in addition toup to 3 years ground storage at normal indoor temperatures and humidity, withoutdegradation of transmission properties.SPECS for SOLID ETALONS 1. - Quantity: 8 - Fused silica sandwich style solid etalons- Max substrate thickness: 12.5 mm- Peak wavelength (in vacuum): 532.200 +/- 0.012 nm - FSR: 0.300 +/- 0.003 nm- FWHM: 0.030 +/- 0.002nm- Peak T>90% in collimated light at 40 +/- 0.1aC- Substrate Diameter: 20mm +0.0/-0.1mm- Clear Aperture: 15mm +/- 0.5mm - Survival temperature: -30C to 65C - Etalons will operate using normal incidence angles- Anti-reflection coatings on both outside surfaces: R<0.2% - Delivery time should notexceed 19 weeks ARO.2. NRE V Non-Recurring Engineering set-up laser measurement and test metrology andthermal controlSelection and award will be made to the lowest priced, technically acceptable quoter. Technical acceptability will be determined from information submitted by the quoter whichmust provide sufficient details to show that the product quoted meets the Government'srequirements. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation,which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and awritten solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQsystem to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may beaccessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin= . The informationrequired by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in [email protected] no later than 11/18/2011. It is the quoters responsibility tomonitor this site for the release of amendments (if any).
