This is a combined synopsis/notice of intent for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format of FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being issued as a Notice of Intent (NOI3061). This solicitation and its incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2001-14. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and is not a small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System Code Number 333314 and the small business size standard is 500 employees.The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is issuing a Notice of Intents to negotiate on a sole-source basis using simplified acquisition procedures with Leica Microsystems of Exton, Pa .for a quantity of one TCS SP2 AOBS Confocal Microscope with DMIRE2 Inverted.
The Leica SP2 AOBS confocal microscope with DMIRE2 inverted is required by the Biological Imaging Facility at the NIAID. This facility provides and maintains imaging instrumentation for use by all of NIAID scientists. The two principle pieces of equipment in the facility are Leica Laser Scanning Confocal Microscopes. Each confocal microscope is coupled to several lasers. The new confocal microscope must be fully compatible with the existing instruments in the facility. It must be possible to transfer components from one confocal microscope to the others. The TCS SP2 AOBS Confocal Microscope with DMIRE2 Inverted is to be comprised of the listed components. 1) DMIRE2 Research Inverted Microscope. 2) DMIRE2 Objectives. 3) DMIRE2 Interference Contrast Accessories (s1) for 20x, 40x, 63x blue and 100x objectives and transmitted light detector. 4) SP2 Confocal Module. 5) UV System Module. 6) Leica Confocal Software, LCS 3D, LCS Multcolor, LCS Physiology and LCS(2 each). 7) Installation. 8) Training.
FOB Point shall be Destination, inside delivery required to Bethesda Md. 20892. This will be a fixed-price contract.
