The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award firm fixed price purchase order to Qiagen, Valencia, CA to provide laboratory equipment, supplies and services: (0001) BioRobot M48-9000708; 0002) Application Package, M48, Pathology-9016151; 0003) Warranty Plus 2, BioRobot M48-9237714; 0004) Installation, BR M48. CDC intends to negotiate this requirement with Qiagen under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, HHSAR 306.302-1, and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The Government has determined that Qiagen is the only source who can provide equipment with the following unique combination of features required: UV light to decontaminate surfaces; design that allows pipet tips to act as reaction chambers to increase efficiency of magnetic separation during purification; ready to new MagAttract protocols specifically for FFPE tissues to minimize contact with potentially infectious samples and Hepa filtration. The sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Subpart 13 procedures. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
