The U. S. Geological Survey, BRD, National Wildlife Health Center, Madison, WI intends to make award on a sole source basis, to Qiagen, Inc, Valencia, CA to purchase Avian Influenza testing kits. The Qiagen OneStep RT-PCR kits have been successfully used over the past several years with satisfactory results. The BRD has determined that after considering alternative sources, the intensive validation process to determine the viability would be prohibitive. There is no written solicitiation for this requirement. This award will be made on or about July 12, 2006 under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold of $100,000.00.
